Who are the drop-ins for?

Our drop-ins are for all students from any subject, across any year group.

From reading over a copy of your CV, to discussing how to tailor it for your job applications, CV Week is as an opportunity for you to learn the tips and tricks to writing a good CV. You may already have a few versions of your CV, so you could bring your best one for us to look over.

If you don’t plan on starting any applications soon, you could get a head start by learning how to format your CV and how to tailor it when applying for different roles. It’s also very useful to have a second pair of eyes look over your work, which we are here to offer!

What can I do to work on my CV?

Use our Get CV Ready Pathway

Our Get CV Ready Pathway is an online resource. It includes a CV checker, which gives you instant feedback, 24/7, all year around.

Upload your CV as many times as you like to improve your score and read the feedback. CareerSet guides you through how to layout your qualifications and skills, what buzz-words employers like and don’t like, plus it gives you ideas for how to make your CV memorable!

Once you complete the pathway and score at least 70% you will unlock our CV Review appointments if you would like 1-1 feedback.

There are also videos, e-learning guides and other resources to help you with your CV on CareerConnect, and on the Get CV Ready Pathway.

Explore the Careers Service Website

Our Careers Service website has lots of reading material about building CVs including: CV FAQs, Active Language Toolkit and a CV template.

We can’t wait to see you all during CV Week, and help you feel confident with how to tailor your CV!
