The Chartered Institute of Marketing Manchester branch is hosting an event on 18th April called The Big Marketing Debate (http://www.cim.co.uk/Events/EventDetails.aspx?crid=51829).
The debate will be a Question Time style format, which looks at students and work placements at marketing agencies.
On the panel is:
• Robert Minton-Taylor, a multi-award winning senior lecturer at Leeds Business School with 45 years’ experience in communications. His views on this issue are voiced in The Drum – http://www.thedrum.com/opinion/2012/08/31/intern-agency-scandal-are-pr-agencies-riding-roughshod-over-interns
• Steve Beaumont, founding director of Sheffield-based Rare Creative Group, a marketing agency
• Katherine Mountain, third year student at the University of Manchester who works part-time at Manchester’s Refresh PR
